Terms of Service

Last updated: July 13, 2026

LessonRelay is operated by Guangen Lin, a sole proprietor doing business as LessonRelay ("LessonRelay", "we", "us", or "our"). By using our website or services, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use LessonRelay.

1. What LessonRelay Is

LessonRelay is an AI-assisted productivity tool for independent music teachers. It helps teachers organize teacher-entered lesson captures into private lesson records, student practice plans, parent or student updates, next-lesson briefs, and teacher-reviewed monthly progress summaries.

LessonRelay provides drafting and organization assistance only. It does not replace your professional judgment as a teacher. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, approving, copying, printing, exporting, or sharing any content.

2. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

You must not enter sensitive personal information into LessonRelay, including Social Security numbers, home addresses, medical diagnoses or health conditions, financial details, or other data unrelated to music instruction.

If your students are minors, you are responsible for ensuring the information you enter is limited to what is relevant to their music lessons.

3. Accounts

You may create an account using your email address. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must not share your account with others.

We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe you are violating these Terms or using the service in a way that harms other users or our systems.

4. Free Plan

Free accounts may create up to 3 student profiles and use up to 3 AI lesson follow-ups per week. The Free Plan does not require payment information and does not automatically convert into a paid subscription.

Free users may receive one trial monthly progress summary after 6 valid lesson cycles for the selected trial student. A valid lesson cycle means a saved lesson follow-up for that selected trial student, counted at most once per day.

Free Plan limits may change as the product evolves. The current limits are shown on the Pricing page.

5. Founding Teacher Plan

The Founding Teacher plan is a recurring subscription at $9 per month during early access.

6. Legacy 5-Pack Credits

Some early users may still have legacy 5-pack credits. These credits were sold to early testers before the current Early Access subscription model. They remain usable for AI lesson follow-up generation but are no longer available for new purchase.

7. Credits and Usage

An AI lesson follow-up credit is used when an AI lesson follow-up generation completes successfully. Each AI lesson follow-up includes the initial generation and up to 2 AI adjustments. Additional AI adjustments may use another follow-up credit.

Manual editing, saving, copying, printing, exporting, and viewing saved records do not use additional credits. If generation fails due to a system error, no credit is used.

8. AI Safety and Prohibited Use

LessonRelay provides teacher-reviewed drafting assistance for music lesson follow-ups. It does not offer or support generation of images, human-like faces, videos, voice impersonations, deepfakes, face swaps, or content using a person's likeness.

LessonRelay must not be used to make automated decisions about people, including students. The service does not score, rank, diagnose, classify, categorize, or determine eligibility, ability, outcomes, or treatment for students.

Teachers remain responsible for all lesson decisions and for reviewing all AI-assisted drafts before using or sharing them.

9. Saved Records

Your saved lesson records remain accessible even after your credits are used up, your subscription ends, or you cancel your plan. You can view, copy, and print saved records at any time.

We do not delete your saved records when your plan expires. However, we reserve the right to remove accounts and data that have been inactive for an extended period, with reasonable notice.

10. Payments

Payments are processed by the payment provider identified at checkout. Depending on availability, LessonRelay may offer checkout through Paddle or Creem, each acting as Merchant of Record when identified at checkout. By making a purchase, you also agree to the applicable provider's terms of service. Prices are in US dollars and may be subject to applicable taxes.

We reserve the right to change pricing. Any price changes will apply to new purchases or the next billing cycle, not to your current billing cycle.

11. Intellectual Property

LessonRelay and its design, code, and branding are owned by us. Content you enter remains yours. AI-generated outputs based on your inputs are yours to use, edit, and share.

You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute LessonRelay's software or services.

12. Limitation of Liability

LessonRelay is provided "as is." We do our best to deliver a reliable service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect AI accuracy, or specific outcomes.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of LessonRelay.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through the service. Your continued use of LessonRelay after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
